I have been busy working on some mother’s day cards and was thinking about how many people out there only send a mother’s day card to your mother and mother-in-law? Or, do you send a card to other mom’s in your life even if they are not your own mother? I typically have only sent to my mother and mother-in-law but this year I think I want to change that. I’ve made quite a few cards already so I will be sending some out to those special mom’s in my life that I’d like to recognize. How about you?

Here is a card that I made a few days ago. I just got a new stamp and die alphabet set from Pink Fresh Studios and wanted try them out. I first die cut the full word MOTHER but decided to go with MOM as it was easier to fit onto an A2 sized card. I cut three sets of the word MOM and stacked them up for dimension. Then, I pulled out my “Kind Flowers” from Simon Says Stamp and inked up a bunch of the flowers to color. I fussy cut them out and layered a few of them. Then added the green leaves which were also painfully fussy cut. All the flower images were colored with my Ohuhu alcohol markers.

I embossed a plain white piece of card stock using a pretty foliage embossing folder, then glued a thin strip of black and white striped paper across the bottom edge to give it a little extra flair. I glued on the letters with my my favorite liquid adhesive – lawn fawn glue tube – and I’m not saying this for any other reason other than I have tried them all and this one does not clog up! I LOVE it…and have several tubes on hand at all times.

I fussed with the flowers and where they would be placed for quite a few minutes…and then quickly stuck them down with some foam tape before I changed my mind (again). 🙂 Placed this whole panel on a bright fusha pink card base (I think from GinaK Design but not sure). At this point I thought I was done, then I decided it needed something more, so I stamped up a quick sentiment (from the same Kind Flowers stamp set) and trimmed it up and placed it on top. And here it is – quite pretty I think!

If you like to see more mother’s day cards that I have made, you can check them out here and here.

That’s it from me for a bit – I am headed back to Seattle today and leaving my sunny Arizona home for a few months. Probably won’t be back until the fall. I’ll be busy back in my home base craft room though so stay tuned for more! I’d love it if you subscribed to my blog so you can follow along! Bye for now.
