Harvest Mice – MFT Stamps

Hello peeps! Here is a cute Thanksgiving card that I put together a few days ago using a new set for me from MFT Stamps. It’s my first time using this set and I had so much fun coloring these little guys with all kinds of fall splendor colors.

This is an A2 sized card and has lots of dimension using craft foam and foam tape. I used my distress inks to add some color to the peek-a-boo windows and this great plaid background stamp from Unity Stamp Company for the card front.

The mice are colored with copics and in the video I show you all the colors I’m using if you’d like to follow along with me on this card. The link to the video is below – grab a cup of tea and settle in for a few minutes to see how I created this fall Thanksgiving card.

Penelope has a Pencil

Hi folks. Happy hump day. I have a new card and video to share with you. (It’s a short one.) Today is a horrible weather day here in my neck of the woods and it just felt like a good day to color. Of course, my husband would say – “uhmmm…when don’t you feel like coloring??!” 🙂 Anyway…I filmed the coloring part for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s a look at the finished card. Pretty cute, huh? I love Stampingbella stamps. This one is an oldie, but a goodie. I have to say she is probably one of the first stamps I ever purchased. Now I have hundreds of stamp sets, but I still come back to this one every now and again. She just makes me smile.

31 Days of Halloween – a video hop

Greetings people…and Happy October. I was excited to be invited to participate in a fun video hop with a Halloween theme. I have created a handful of Halloween cards already, but have been saving this one for this video hop which goes live today!

If you want to check out the earlier videos in the hop, just click here. There is a fun prize drawing at the end. If you watch and comment on all 31 videos, you will be entered for the prize drawing which is an awesome assortment of stamping supplies including stamps, dies, tapes and papers. This is open to international folks as well!

Ok, about this card. I used MFT’s stamp and die set called Frightfully Sweet. An adorable set of critters and Halloween themed sentiments that provide a ton of possibilities for your Halloween cards, tags and greetings. These characters are so easy to color too.

I won’t spend a lot of time explaining the construction of this card because you need to go and watch the video! Go now…and don’t forget to comment! 🙂

If you’d like to check out my other Halloween cards you can see them in this post here, here and here.

Hello Fall

Today’s card celebrates Fall! Hard to believe but today is the second day of fall already. The summer was so busy it’s like a blur and I am finding myself wondering where the summer went. Needless to say, I’m kind of a fan of fall – crisp cool mornings, gorgeous fall leaves and comfort food in the crock pot. Those thoughts inspired this Hello Fall card using stamps from a great little stamp company called Hello Bluebird.

The stitched background from Lawn Fawn represents my cool crisp air and I love how the swirls let your imagination believe the wind is whipping and tossing the leaves up in the air around them.

The adorable little forest critters were colored with copics and I do not own the die set (yet) for this set so I had to fussy cut each image and leaf. Oye. Not a small task for the closet perfectionist. 🙂

This is really a one layer card except for the sentiment at the bottom which I popped up on some foam tape. I hope you love it! Now, off to go find a pumpkin spiced latte…since now I’m in the mood. Happy Fall Y’all!

Hey Ghoul Friend!

Today’s card features a stamp set from one of my favorite stamp companies – Art Impressions. I own several of their sets and when I saw this one this Halloween season, I knew I had to have it.

This card is multi-layered and took quite a while to color and assemble. I started by stamping the image to color – but I didn’t have an idea yet of how I wanted to work it into a card. Often times, I start that way – where I just want to color and image, and then it comes to me later how I want it to look in the end. So, I spent the evening yesterday coloring this and then, when I looked at it with fresh eyes this morning, I knew I wanted to fussy cut the main image out and pop it up on a frame.

Figuring out the background to fill in the white space came next. I decided on a spider web for the corners that are from Penny Black and I just adore that spider – he is SO CUTE! The pumpkin banner was also colored and fussy cut and popped up with some foam tape to drape across the corner of the card frame. You can see the dimension it adds in the photos below.

The inside sentiment is adorned with a cute little set of dangling spiders hanging out next to the “Happy Halloween”. I love how this card turned out and can’t wait to send it.

I will have one more Halloween card in me this season and I am saving it for the 31 days of Halloween video blog hop that @hooklineandinker is hosting. My new card and video will be up on October 5th! Stay tuned for more info!
