Hi folks. I have been having a blast playing with the July Paper Pumpkin kit – I hope you were able to sign up for this one…it was so much fun! I truly loved it – even though when I first saw it I was kinda like…meh…. But then I got to playing with it and fell in love.

Come have a look with me….and a link to my video is also below at the end of this post.

This first alternate design uses the components from the kit – just as they are. So…super easy card to make – no extra steps, just a different design layout if you choose.

This next card is simple but stepped up a bit. I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut the circle from the front of the card base. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the ship and the bottle is also handmade – and I created a quick 2 min video on how to do that. You can watch that video HERE.

For the inside, I chose a layer of fresh freesia as a mat for the white insert and used second generation stamping with memento black ink for the ship stamping.

Here is a version of the same card, but instead of cutting up the embossed blue sky and sea panel that comes in the kit, I color blended my own sky/sea background using white card stock and pacific point ink. It looks just as good – can you see the difference?

For my last alternate card design, I used the ship and bottle again. I LOVE the ship from this set….and I love coloring the sails – it is so quick and easy. I used Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake to color the sails on the ship. The bottle was punched out of one of the blue embossed card bases that comes with the kit using the vintage bottle punch which you MUST go buy right now if you don’t have it. I stamped the little message with crumb cake and fussy cut it out. This message stamp…by the way…would make a PERFECT diploma – so don’t forget this one next spring when you are doing your graduation cards. 🙂

Finally…phew…it was a long day… but I created a video on how I put both of these cards together – if you’re interested, the link is below.

By the way…If you are not a paper pumpkin subscriber yet, you will want to take a peek at the kit that is coming for August. It will not disappoint. There is a bonus gift with the set and instead of just one ink spot you will get two. I’d love to have you join my group of Paper Pumpkin-er’s. Why not sign up now…and come craft with us!

Ok…go watch this video…and let’s craft again together soon!

Cheers!
