Well...I'm still learning this program, but what it means is that I will be able to show off and demonstrate for you how to craft with Stampin' Up's full line of products. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker Give Away!
Hello folks and Happy Tuesday! You may have read from my earlier post that I am the proud new owner of the 80-piece set of Zig Clean Color Brush markers. I was a little uncertain about them so I thought I would try them out first before making the investment in the full set. Turns out that I absolutely love them and so a couple days later my full set of 80 markers had arrived. That means I have an extra […]
The Masters is here…(And so are my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens!)
Do we have any golfers or golf fans out there? I am so excited for this year’s Masters Tournament. With the return of Tiger to the playing field and my all time favorite golfer Phil Mickelson doing quite well this year, the tournament is projected to be a nail biter for sure. That is…if you love golf the way I do. I love golf as much as I love making cards…and that says A LOT! I have three T.V’s turned on in our house right now – all of them on the golf channel…so I don’t miss a beat. [...]
Oh Baby!
Hello peeps! I’m back with a quick post and an entry to the CASE this Sketch challenge #261. This is a first time entry for me, so I hope I am following all the rules! :) I have been making baby cards all week it seems and fun with the “baby” word cut away die. So here is the sketch challenge photo and the idea is to create a card that incorporates the same design elements in the sketch photo. […]
A fresh start!
Just popping to give some updates since I have not posted in quite a while. I hope to make more regular posts now and I think I might be able to make it happen. I ended a job on Friday and will start a new one on Monday, however this new job will allow me a bit more flexibility and time to dedicate to "CardsbyCheryl". I've never had a job that allowed me to work from home, and I'm excited to try it now. I really am looking forward to being able to spend more time in the craft [...]
Card Design Boo Boos – To fix or not to fix?
Knowing when to scrap a project and start over versus spending the extra time in trying to fix a mistake is a constant struggle for me. Especially in cases where there is quite a lot of effort put into the project leading up to the dreaded mistake or design flaw. For example, the image below shows a couple of practice cards where I was playing with the layout and how I wanted the card designed. If you are familiar with the masking technique, you already know that it can be a bit tedious and planning is super important. You have [...]
Bloom
I recently discovered stamps designed by Catherine Scanlon (produced by Art Gone Wild) and I was SO hooked! I purchased several of her stamps but this one called 15 Orbs was the first one I saw and it caught my eye immediately. It was screaming water color me, so I inked it up on some 140 lb watercolor cardstock and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. One of the things I loved about this stamp is the center orb was left blank. I pondered for a few days on what to put inside that empty orb, and even asked [...]
An experiment gone good…
Don’t you love it when an experiment turns out beautifully? I was messing around with embossing some dies that I had and ran across this cute tea cup die from PoppyStamps.com. Instead of die cutting it, I embossed it onto water color card stock and used […]
If raindrops were kisses…
I can’t remember where I first heard this phrase but as soon as I did, I knew I was going to design a card around it. Bummer part is that I didn’t have a stamp with that sentiment so I had to hand letter it myself…which trust me, is harder than it looks. Hand lettering is a gift…and one that I only partially possess…so hence you see the simple all caps print typeface was about all I could muster up for this card. In the end, the card is handmade…so why not hand letter it as well? […]
