Hello friends:
Well, yesterday I spent several hours playing with the new Cozy Christmas Paper Pumpkin Kit. I did not end up making any of the pre-designed cards from the kit. Instead, I let my mind go and create 6 new cards designs that I am sharing with you below.
You might notice I stepped way outside the box with the pink card. I wanted to make the ornament appear shiny and I remembered I had the shiny iridescent bags that came with the Spooky Halloween Suite. So I cut up a bag and used it as an overlay on the ornament to give it a glimmery shine. (photo does not do justice) Turns out Petunia pop looks great with Garden Green, dontcha think?

Full honesty here, the pieces designed for this kit was really not my vibe. I guess I’m not a fan of the flocked paper. Or, maybe it’s just the vintage feel of the designs that I didn’t’ care for. Not sure, but I was not compelled to make one single card as it was intended with the kit. But…what I DID do was use the heck out of the coordinating dies that go with this kit. I used the tag die on three cards, and the greenery die cut in garden green is the perfect accent embellishment.

If you have not purchased these coordinating dies, go grab them now. They are awesome and so versatile for designing other cards – not just the paper pumpkin cards.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my card alternatives. I am happy to share more measurements or details about how the cards came together if you’d like. Just drop me a comment or a quick email and I’m happy to share that with you!
If you are not subscribed to paper pumpkin yet, you’re missing out! This is a monthly craft kit that gets delivered right to your door. I called it “red box day” in my house because it’s a happy day whenever these kits arrive. They are fun to do on your own or with friends. I host a zoom each month and we craft together live – and I show all kinds of new designs and tips and tricks. Anyone is welcome! Also…all of my paper pumpkin subscribers get a free gift each quarter from me. I personally order and send everyone the coordinating add-on die set that goes with the kit with a handmade card. So let me leave you with that…and tempt you with a subscribe button below. C’mon – give Paper Pumpkin a try. You can start, stop, or cancel at any time. Hit me up with any questions!
