Hello, crafty friends! I’m thrilled to share some beautiful alternate card designs I’ve created using the February 2025 Hello Spring Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up! This delightful kit is a perfect blend of fresh, spring-inspired elements, making it ideal for creating heartfelt cards to celebrate the season. In case you missed out on this kit, a refill kit is now available in my online store. The refill does not come with the stamp set but you can easily add your own sentiments to complete these cards using the contents of the refill kit.
Why I love Paper Pumpkin Kits!
The Paper Pumpkin subscription is a delightful surprise that lands in your mailbox every month, offering a curated, all-in-one crafting experience. You can stop or start your subscription each month without penalty – so YOU decide when you want to receive a kit. Each kit comes with pre-cut, pre-scored materials, stamps, ink, and embellishments, making it perfect for crafters of all skill levels—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro. The kits are themed, ensuring seasonal or celebratory inspiration (like spring florals, holiday designs, or everyday sentiments), and they often include exclusive stamps and accessories you can’t find elsewhere. It’s really a budget-friendly way to explore new techniques, and build a collection of unique handmade cards to share with friends and family. Plus, the excitement of unboxing a new kit each month adds so much fun to your crafting journey! If you’re not already a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber – you’re missing out!
Ok, let’s have a look at some of the alternate cards that I made using the February Kit. I tried to only use products that came in the kit but I did find that I added a couple items from my stash.
For two of the cards I added Velum. On the “to a wonderful friend” card, I just used plain unembossed velum which toned down the bright green cardstock and gave it a softer feel. On the “Sending Love” card I embossed the velum using the Forever Plain 3D embossing folder which gave it a really cool texture to the front.
For the Springtime greetings card, I added a touch of Petunia Pop by making my own colored card stock. I simply took a strip of white card stock and wiped my Petunia Pop ink spot over it until the paper was completed covered in ink. I let it dry and then cut it into smaller pieces that I used to embellish my card fronts and add a bright pop of color,.
