I can’t remember where I first heard this phrase but as soon as I did, I knew I was going to design a card around it. Bummer part is that I didn’t have a stamp with that sentiment so I had to hand letter it myself…which trust me, is harder than it looks. Hand lettering is a gift…and one that I only partially possess…so hence you see the simple all caps print typeface was about all I could muster up for this card. In the end, the card is handmade…so why not hand letter it as well?
About the card – this was a stamp I purchased from StampingBella.com a few years ago. I stamped and embossed it onto 140lb. water color cardstock and water colored it with my new Kuretake water colors that my darling husband got me for Christmas. I finished it off with a bit of colored pencil detail and then secured it to a bright red cardstock base.
For the inside I had to create my own storm. I can’t believe that I do not have one single cloud stamp in my stash. So with a sponge dauber and my blue distress inks I swirled up a little storm for the inside of the card.
This will be a sweet Valentine’s day card for someone or even just a cute card to say “I love you”.
