Hello there. Happy Monday to you all. Guess what…it’s raining this week again. Ha! Shocking, huh. :). Man…I wish summer would get here. I saw this on facebook yesterday and thought I’d copy it here for a little chuckle. Cute kitty!

But…rainy days go well with crafting, so I guess I won’t complain. It’s currently keeping me from that garden full of weeds that desperately needs my attention. I have been working with the Bottled Happiness bundle the last few days and I discovered that I kind of like making shaker cards. Keep reading to the end to learn how you can get this 3-project card kit for FREE!

In the new catalog, there are shaker domes that were designed specifically for the vintage bottle punch so I decided to try them out. Traditionally, I always thought shaker cards were too much of a hassle to create but once again, stampin up made it so very easy! Pictured below are the domes that have adhesive already prepped for you on BOTH sides of the dome. The second picture shows the beads that I used to fill the shakers with. They are called Effervescent Elements and they are so pretty…they kind of have an iridescent look to them.

Below are the first two cards that I made and I fell in love with the craft paper – especially when I embossed it. I used the stripes and splatters embossing folder on these cards. This is a two-pack set of folders that are small, so they work great with the mini emboss machine. I used the stripes folder on these cards. I really wanted a vintage feel for these cards so I used muted shades, browns and blues and of course, the forever classic – linen thread. I love how they turned out.

I wanted to try making a card with the punch but not the shaker element and this is what I came up with. The star of this show is the beautiful paper from the Lovely Linen DSP. Oh how I love this paper! I think I am going to use this card for a birthday – I have not stamped it inside yet but that is the plan.

Here is a look at all three card projects. I do want to mention that the two shaker style cards below will fit into a regular envelope and seal up just fine. However, they are NOT machine-able through the post and so you will need to add a non-machine-able stamp to this if you are going to mail it. Personally, I would choose to send my shaker card in a bubble wrap style mailer and pay the extra shipping to ensure it arrived in good condition. Otherwise, add these cards to a gift package that you hand deliver.
