Good morning and Happy Friday! I just wanted to pop in with some crafty inspiration for how to make a beautiful card in just minutes. The trick…let your pattern paper do all the work! I have a project sheet available for this card, so if you’d like to download it just scroll to the bottom and click the link.
This flowering fields paper is jaw-dropping gorgeous and I had to make a card to showcase how pretty it is. Here’s the design I came up with – but it’s really just based on a card sketch that I looked up on Pinterest.
The white panel for the front was cut from the 2nd largest scalloped rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly die set. This die set is a must have for your basic die sets in your craft room. I am constantly reaching for this set for my cards and there are so many great sizes and shapes to choose from. If you’re looking for one good set of nested frame dies for your collection, I would definitely recommend this one.
The other great tool that I used to create this card is the Bough Punch. This is a fairly new punch and I love it because it’s really versatile for every season. You can punch out plain white pieces and use it as I did to adorn your cards. Or jazz up your Christmas card with some sparkly boughs punched from shimmery gold or silver cardstock. So easy add an embellishment to your card that really makes an impact.
Here’s a peek at the inside of my card. The tulip border stamp came from the Tulip Fields stamp set and is the perfect long/skinny stamp to decorate the insides of your cards. I love extending the color and design from the front of the card to the inside.
Finally, no card is complete without a coordinating envelope. Again…let the paper do all the work! I simply glued a rectangle strip of paper a smidge bigger than the size of the envelope flap and glued it down. Then I trimmed off the edges to match the shape of the envelope flap and voila – you have a beautiful matching envelope. So pretty!
I hope you liked today’s installment of crafty inspiration. I had so many birthdays in February that I wanted to go with an easy design but still really beautiful.
