Today’s card features a stamp set from one of my favorite stamp companies – Art Impressions. I own several of their sets and when I saw this one this Halloween season, I knew I had to have it.
This card is multi-layered and took quite a while to color and assemble. I started by stamping the image to color – but I didn’t have an idea yet of how I wanted to work it into a card. Often times, I start that way – where I just want to color and image, and then it comes to me later how I want it to look in the end. So, I spent the evening yesterday coloring this and then, when I looked at it with fresh eyes this morning, I knew I wanted to fussy cut the main image out and pop it up on a frame.
Figuring out the background to fill in the white space came next. I decided on a spider web for the corners that are from Penny Black and I just adore that spider – he is SO CUTE! The pumpkin banner was also colored and fussy cut and popped up with some foam tape to drape across the corner of the card frame. You can see the dimension it adds in the photos below.
The inside sentiment is adorned with a cute little set of dangling spiders hanging out next to the “Happy Halloween”. I love how this card turned out and can’t wait to send it.
I will have one more Halloween card in me this season and I am saving it for the 31 days of Halloween video blog hop that @hooklineandinker is hosting. My new card and video will be up on October 5th! Stay tuned for more info!
