Greetings friends! It’s been a hot minute since I have been on my blog – but I am back now…holidays are behind us and I am ready to rock and roll! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and cheers to 2022!

I’m a little late getting this post out because I am showcasing the December Paper Pumpkin kit which is called Lots of Pun. Guys…this kit was so darned cute…I had a such ball with it. And…there is a refill kit available for this set if you just can’t get enough…it’s only $10!

For this hello card below – did you notice I converted the fried egg into a flower? How fun is that! To create the leaves, I stamped the cherries four times, colored just the leaves and fussy cut them out. I adhered them to the back of the fried egg to make it look like a flower…so cute!

I wanted to mention one more thing about this card – because this is such a sweet everyday occasion card, I decided that I would want to make a bunch of these to keep on hand. But…there are only 3 of the hello die-cuts in the kit. So, if you don’t want to order a refill kit, then just go to your Biggest Wish stamp set and stamp out the scripty hello and fussy cut it. This is a perfect sized replacement to the die-cut “hello” that comes in the kit.

This next card is probably my favorite. The little toast guy with the mustache is so stinking cute… I used all the various elements available from the kit – so no added supplies needed. (Whoops…I take that back, I did stamp the red heart inside with poppy parade ink.) I popped up one of the eggs and the toast with a dimensional and the rest of the layers are adhered flat so it’s not so bulky to send. For the inside I added another one of the die cut toasts (but you could also stamp this and color it if you run out of the toast die-cuts and it would be just as cute). This one is going to my dad…because he does tell the corniest jokes and I really “loaf him”. 🙂

For this next card, I cut apart one of the pool party envelopes. I used a large piece on the pool party side for the background and used the remaining flap part of the envelope and cut it down to 2 x 3.75″. I flipped to the red polka dot side and layered it on the front. I did the same with the with the yellow envelope – cut it apart and used it for layering pieces – in this case, I used the rainbow striped side for a layer on the front. The bright red circle was punched from poppy parade card stock using a 2 1/4″ circle punch which is sadly retired, but you could also use your circle layering dies to the same effect.

I thought this would make an adorable valentine’s day card, so for the inside, I used the Sweet Conversations stamp set – which is a brand new set available in the Jan – June Mini catalog that just released. I stamped and colored the cherries for a little pop of color to the inside and added a little rainbow strip that was a remnant from the envelope I cut open. Cute, huh?

The next card design was taken right from the instruction sheet that comes with this kit. The only thing I changed up was that I used the “thanks a bunch” sentiment instead of “peel better soon”. Lots of layers and lots of color with this card – it’s super fun. This inside was left blank – but I did add a small yellow strip of trim to the bottom to tie it all together. Isn’t this such a happy looking card?

This last card sample I made came together so quickly! I love the splatter stamp that comes with this set and so I inked it up with some poppy parade ink and stamped just a couple times around the green splatter on the card base. I stamped the “hi” and the “you are cherry sweet” in early espresso and cut them down with my trimmer. The rainbow strip and the scalloped red strip came with the kit, so nothing extra needed. Pop up the sentiments and the cherries with some dimensionals and add a bow – voila, you’re done!

I left the inside blank, but this would make a great thank you card – so just add a thank you sentiment from your stash.

I hope these cards offer you some inspiration to create more cards with your kit! If you are not a paper pumpkin subscriber but would like to be – just click here to sign up. You can stop or start your subscription at any time with no penalty and it’s such a fun surprise to get in your mail box each month.
